Green Pea Hummus

Green pea hummus
500 grams peas-I used fresh-boiled very briefly in water. Cool.
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 tablespoons tahini paste
½ teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon olive oil + a tad extra for garnish
½ teaspoon black pepper powder
Juice of 1 lemon
Red chilli powder for garnish
Combine all the ingredients in the food processor and pulse for a few minutes, or till it forms a smooth paste. Garnish with a little olive oil and red chilli powder.
Hummus has a tendency to thicken in a few hours. It keeps in the fridge for 3-4 days.
Serve with crackers,pita, crudités.Use left overs in sandwiches or as a dressing…
